On your first visit, you will meet with Dr. Kristin to discuss a thorough review of your health history as well as current health issues. A first visit is usually 30-45 minutes long with the goal of this first visit being to “get to know your spine.” It is used to determine if Chiropractic is right for you.
A chiropractic adjustment does not take long. The doctor will evaluate your spine and determine when and where the bones in your spine require an adjustment. While this may not take very long, each visit will include meeting with the chiropractor to review your current level of functioning so that we are able to keep as up-to-date on your condition as possible. In total, we find a typical visit will last anywhere from 15-20 minutes.
Insurance companies are a business which means their goal is to make money, not provide healthcare. We have seen an increase in premiums for less service. These increased premiums have also come with more paperwork and an increase in denials.
We are all for capitalism, however, we would like to see healthcare put back in the hands of patients and their physicians. Our solution for this issue is affordable family health care that can be paid for before you leave the office. A visit to our office is usually the same cost and at times less expensive than a visit to another chiropractic office that accepts insurance. If you have insurance, we can provide you with the appropriate documentation to file with your insurance provider if you want to submit a claim.
We see anyone ranging from newborn to 64 years old. We see Chiropractic as an integral part of healthcare. The relationship of the nervous system (the primary control mechanism of the body) and the spine is the focus of what we do. The spine serves two primary functions; allows for freedom of movement and houses and protects the spinal cord. When the spine’s vertebrae become misaligned (either due to trauma or repetitive injury), the range of motion is limited and the nerves emerging from the spinal cord are compromised. This interruption of the nerve flow (also called subluxation) can lead to pain, disability, and a general decrease in quality of life. Dr. Kristin’s aim is to remove this interference and restore normal nerve expression, hence restoring health.
Babies may need adjustments because birth can be just a hard for baby as it can be for Mom. Chiropractic is perfect for making sure any spinal misalignments that occur are gently corrected so that your baby can grow with everything communicating as optimally as possible. Parents often seek care for their children when they have colic, sleep issues, nursing difficulties, torticollis or abnormal neck positioning, and even constipation. Chiropractic doesn’t treat any of these conditions. It makes sure everything is lined up properly so that the nervous system can identify that there is a communication issue and heal appropriately.

There is no time like the present! We tailor each visit according to your specific needs at every stage of your pregnancy. Chiropractic has been shown to be safe and effective before, during, and after your pregnancy. Oftentimes, Moms find that starting earlier is better than waiting until issues arise. Preventing the aches, pains, alignment, and functional issues starts with catching them before they start!
We adjust babies very soon after birth. Once you and your baby have been released by the hospital, birthing center, and/or healthcare provider, we can set up a visit to do an examination on your baby.
Of course, every situation is different but we typically see patient shortly after giving birth. Give us a call and we can try to determine when is most appropriate to be seen at the office. You might be surprised how soon after birth you can be gently adjusted!
Just like we say it’s never to early to get adjusted, we also say it’s never too late! We accept Moms during all stages of their pregnancy journey!
It is important to note that chiropractic does NOT cure fertility problems. We don’t aim to specifically treat the issues causing fertility. We work to regulate the nervous system, specifically the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) in this case. The ANS regulates heart rate, digestion, respiratory rate, and its proper function is important to fertility among other things. It’s the director behind the fight or flight we always hear about. When we are in constant stress or fight or flight, our bodies are too busy trying to help us manage the stress and isn’t necessarily worried about improving your chances to get pregnant. Based on several case studies and published research, chiropractic can not only just improve the way your spine moves, but also improve the way your nervous system functions. When the nervous system is no longer in fight or flight, it can communicate the best way possible and in theory, improve your chances of getting pregnant. Studies show that a calm ANS can normalize the menstrual cycle, improve hormone function, and decrease the stress response in the body, making it the ideal environment for reproduction.
Oh, that pregnancy waddle! When the bones of the pelvis are misaligned during pregnancy, the muscles and ligaments that attach to those bones can have a hard time doing their jobs. Being properly aligned may help reduce that waddle we may experience during pregnancy.
Round ligament pain is a common complaint during pregnancy. While Round Ligament pain is considered common and normal, it indicates tension in the area and imbalance in the suspensory ligaments of the uterus. Round Ligament pain can be severe enough to limit walking and other exercise, it can cause significant pain when trying to roll over in bed and stand up, and can be associated with other common, but treatable pregnancy complaints such as Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction, Low Back Pain, and Sciatica. Round Ligament might indicate abnormal stress or tension on the uterus. By making sure there is balance between the structures in and around the Round Ligaments, the pain and inflammation can be reduced and, in some cases, eliminated.
Studies have shown that patients that undergo regular chiropractic care during most of their pregnancy have seen a reduction in labor times, interventions, and birth injury.
Every body requires a different care plan and a different adjustment because every body is unique, has had its own history, and has specific needs. Each care plan will depend on a case-by-case basis as well as the goals you have for your body. Please feel free to discuss with Dr. Kristin any concerns you may have regarding a care plan. We believe that open dialog in a non-judgmental environment is most important in helping you achieve the goals you have for your body.
It is VERY important to note that chiropractors do NOT turn breech babies head down. The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic sacral analysis and diversified adjustment. The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of sacral subluxation/ SI joint dysfunction. In doing so, neuro-biomechanical function in the pelvis is facilitated.
Sacral subluxation may contribute to difficult labor for the mother (i.e., dystocia), caused by inadequate uterine function, pelvic contraction, and baby mal-presentation. Correction of sacral subluxation may have a positive effect on all of these causes of dystocia.
